Cheers Sam Adams Fan!
There has been a lot of toasting going on at the Boston Brewery lately: to spring being right around the corner, to pitchers & catchers reporting, to all of our first-time visitors to the brewery. And lately, the toasts have been a little bit more fulfilling, the smiles a little bit bigger, the Boston Lager tastes a little better. And the reason why? A new pint glass designed exclusively for Samuel Adams Boston Lager®.
We are proud to announce to you, the launch of the Samuel Adams Boston Lager® Pint Glass. This glass is the perfect vessel for drinking Samuel Adams Boston Lager®. A glass that is the perfect blend of science and sensory! A glass that lets you experience and taste Boston Lager the way Jim and the brewers intended! Can you tell that I am pretty stoked about this thing?!?!
We can't wait for all of you to try it out. Read more about it below you... won't be disappointed.
WHAT'S ON TAP this month? Another great Open House, one of our most award-winning beers (Double Bock) plus, it's tourney time baby!!!! We'll help you celebrate one of the best tournaments of the year. So read on...
Cheers!
- Brian

I asked you last month if you have ever had a perfect pint of beer. (well some of you have now, because you were one of the lucky ones who got into February's Open House.) With this new Samuel Adams Boston Lager® Pint Glass you all will now have the chance to try a perfect pint.
(click above for a quick film about the making of our new glass)
We have spent the past year working with sensory experts and glass craftsmen to create the perfect pint glass for Samuel Adams Boston Lager®. The right shape, thickness, curves, height, the kind of glass, they all affect the taste of the beer. And it has resulted in this glass. Let's walk through a few of the features.
- Bead inside top rim - small ridge creates turbulence to increase CO2 and aroma release as beer enters palate
- Lip of the Glass - places the beer on the front of the tongue where sweetness is tasted
- Narrowness - enhances hop aroma by concentrating the head
- Round Shape - greater volume to surface ratio maintains temperature longer
- Narrow grip - reduces the beer's exposure to heat from the hand
- Nucleation site - increases hop aroma release
Now with all that said, just go try a Samuel Adams Boston Lager® in the new glass...you'll taste the difference. Select bars and restaurants around the country have already received the glass and more should be getting it soon.
If you want to see for yourself, just head over to the e-store at www.samueladams.com where you can purchase a set of four (4) for your home. And I promise, with this new glass you too will be toasting a little more often.
But if you can't wait, you can get your hands on the new pint glass right here. Sign Up here and you will be entered to win a set of 4 Samuel Adams Boston Lager® Pint Glasses. [[ftf|Forward this]] to friends and family, it will give you more chances to win. We'll select 5 winners. Good Luck!

With March here it is time to turn our attention to the hardwood! It's one of my favorite times of year. The first weekend of the tournament is one of the best four day stretches for sports fans. As we say in Chapel Hill (home of my alma mater) "If God ain't a Tar Heel fan, why would he paint the sky Carolina Blue?!?
Do you love the tourney? Well, we have come up with a way to get you there! And all you have to do is stop and smell the hops. This month we will be at bars across the country telling people about our crazy passion for our Unrivaled Hops and our love for basketball. We're also giving the opportunity for you and five of your buddies to go Tourney Hopping in 2008! That's right, you and your Fab Five will bounce between regional cities to take in all the action and the mad hops of Samuel Adams Boston Lager®. Just think of it as helping us check the freshness of our product all across
the country. Tough job!
Just go to our website (promotions page) and signup to find out about the Unrivaled Hops in all of our beers.

In the 2006 Beer Lover's Choice™ campaign we gave you Sample A (a honey porter) and Sample B (a smoked lager). And as you all know, over 15,000 people voted and Samuel Adams® Honey Porter took its victorious place in our Brewmaster's Collection (now in a store near you). A very exciting and close election.
However in 2007 we are going to change it up a little bit. We are going to make the election a little more democratic. Before most big elections, the candidates have to make it through a Primary election. Well this year, the same is true for our Beer Lover's Choice™ election.
So, before the country gets to vote for Sample A or Sample B, those beers will have to beat out Sample C and Sample D as well. We usually do this behind closed brewery doors, but this year we are opening up the process to you. The four beer styles that are running to be the next member of the Samuel Adams® Brewmaster's Collection are:
- Samuel Adams® Saison
- Samuel Adams® Belgian Pale Ale
- Samuel Adams® Irish Red Ale
- Samuel Adams® Dunkelweizen
Come on down to the brewery on March 29 to taste and vote on all 4 potential Beer Lover's Choice™ candidates. The top two beers will go on to the national election. RSVP here and click on the Boston Brewery button the front page of our website.
- What: Open House-Beer Lover's Choice™ Primary
- When: Thursday, March 29 - 5pm to 8pm
- Where: Samuel Adams® Boston Brewery
Special Note: The Boston Brewery Tour Hours have been extended for St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17th. We will be running tours from 10am to 2pm, with tours beginning every 20 minutes. We will also have Samuel Adams® Cream Stout on tap to celebrate the day.
And you will also have a chance to check out our float in the Southie World Famous St. Patty's Day parade. And if you haven't been to the parade, it is a must!
