In addition to financial support, the Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream program supports its beneficiaries in a variety of other ways including offering financial and business literacy seminars specifically designed to meet the educational needs of food and beverage entrepreneurs.

What is Speed Coaching?
Speed Coaching is a unique workshop developed by Samuel Adams to provide attendees with the chance to meet one-on-one and in small groups with Boston Beer Company staff who offer their expertise in areas including marketing, e-commerce, packaging, public relations and sales & distribution. Experts from ACCION USA, our nonprofit partner, also participate to talk about available microloans and credit and money management issues facing small businesses. Using a "Speed Coaching" format, attendees get concise, practical advice and guidance on their business. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to bring packaging, materials, ideas and questions.
Coaching Available in the Following Areas:
- Accounting: Massachusetts Society of CPAs Members will be on hand to answer your questions about business and individual taxation, bookkeeping with QuickBooks, as well as business formation.
- Financing: Find out about available microloans through Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream, as well as credit and money management issues facing small businesses. Coaches are able to speak with attendees in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
- Graphic Design/Logo Development: Coaches are able to answer your questions about creating a logo, how to make your packaging and point of sales materials look unique to your brand and provide insight on other graphic design related areas.
- IT: Find out how to register a domain name for a Website, create a quick and easy Website to maximize your sales and branding on the internet, and how to setup Email unique to your company.
- Legal: Coaches can answer your questions about planning and setting up your company, commercial leases, protecting your business name and other legal issues that small businesses face.
- Marketing: Talk to a coach about new product development including name selection, packaging design, promotion, POS and sales challenges.
- Publicity: Ask questions related to publicity campaigns, strategic outreach to the media, how to use public relations to create awareness for your business and products, and guidelines for working with the press.
- Sales & Distribution: These coaches can offer insightful information on preparing yourself for a sales call, suggest ways to make your business stand out from competitive products/services, and offer selling and negotiation tactics.
