A message from Jim Koch, Our Founder

We are The Boston Beer Company. We are known for the quality of our beers, and for our creativity and innovation in developing, brewing, and selling these beers. We use traditional brewing methods and follow sound brewing fundamentals to ensure that our beers are always of the highest quality. Innovative recipes and ingredients are used in creating exciting new styles of beer. While these ingredients and recipes combine to create our fine beers, there always remains a bit of mystery and wonder as the brewing process transforms our work into a world-renowned product.

Our company, like our beers, is the result of a combination of tradition, human chemistry, creativity, and wonder. Our company traditions are those of quality, growth, respect for others, open-mindedness, and hard work. We believe that everyone has a valuable contribution to make and that all of us are free to express our opinions, provided we do so constructively and without personal motives. We believe in the value of the individual, both inside and outside the company.

Our continued success is the result of the dynamic process of interaction that exists between the people of our company, manifested in an absence of boundaries to communication and improvement. This chemistry allowed us to help redefine an entire industry and also enables us to redefine ourselves again and again.

Our creativity, individually and collectively, has allowed us to stay ahead of our competition. We are not bound by traditional modes of thought or analysis. Our beers, our selling styles, and our organizational structure are all testaments to our ability to think and act in new ways.

Also fundamental to our continued success is a sense of awe at all there is yet for us to accomplish and create. As a company, we look at the world as one without limits, and as one in which we are free to explore, grow, create, and enjoy.
