  • THE TOOLS

    This unique brew defies traditional beer style definition.  Its combination of flavors are created by melding a rich maltiness with notes of tart fruit from the yeast and a toasty oak character from the barrel aging. The signature, almost wine-like character comes from its high proportion (over 50%) of Kosmic MotherÒ Funk®(KMF).  This distinctive brew is its own Belgian ale we’ve aged in large oak tuns for over a year.

  • THE TRADE

    Blending with Kosmic Mother Funk gives this beer its distinctive and complex layers of flavor.  KMF is our Belgian ale that’s been aged for over a year in large oak tuns where it undergoes a secondary fermentation with brettanomyces  and lactobacillus yeasts.  The KMF as well as bottle conditioning gives this unique brew a  a tart, earthy, fruity and estery character.

  • THE LEGACY

    Inspired by Belgian Reds and Flemish Oud Bruins. We wanted to create a unique brew that featured the contribution of the aged KMF with its distinct flavors of fruit and sour tartness. Belgian Reds and Oud Bruins showcase the flavors  from using special yeast strains and aging the beer for long periods in oak barrels. The beer is also the result of blending old and young brews. Flemish Oud Bruins, like Red ales, are tart and sour, with an added sweetness and smoothness and a roasted malt character.
