One of the best parts about being a brewer at Samuel Adams is that we can truly do anything we can imagine. We're constantly challenged to try new things. A new idea can spring from a recent trip, to a new flavor combination we tried, to a desire to reinterpret a classic style, there's always more to experiment.

Beer history is dependent on each generation building on the previous. To us, understanding the past is where inspiration begins. For each of our Brewmasters beers we looked to a classic beer style as our starting point. What are the origins of the style, what was the taste like, what ingredients or processes would they have used. From there we experiment to include other brewing influences, ingredients, and tastes to create our own version of that style.

Next: Beer Lover's Choice®

As brewers, we always want to have another beer. The tough part comes in choosing between them. So occasionally, we put that question to you. For several years we've narrowed down our favorites to two and asked beer lovers to help us decide between them in a program called "Beer Lover's Choice". The winning beer then appears the following year. The loser, well, no beer is ever really lost around here, it just might find new life somewhere down the road.

Variety is the spice of life, right? From malty and sweet to dry and spicy, big flavor to clean and smooth, with all of these options, where to begin? Some might suggest sticking within one style range, others may tell you to only drink light or dark. As brewers and fellow beer lovers, we say... drink what you want for the love of beer! Experiment, learn what flavors you like, and understand where they come from. The key is to have a guide to see where your tastes fall. Use the beer style tree to find a beer you enjoy or a series that's brand new. The more you know, the more you'll enjoy!

Our Brewmaster's Collection of beers represent our exploration and interpretation of classic beer styles. With a combination of tradition and new flavor development, each beer has its own character. The collection continues to evolve and change so look for new tastes to discover throughout the years.
