Imperialist Beers

Imperial beers date back to the court of Catherine the Great of Russia when stouts were brewed in Britain for shipment across the Baltic Sea. These stouts were brewed with stronger flavors and alcohol to weather the cold trip and they just so happened to suit the Slavic tastes as well. For us, "Imperial" signifies a new dimension to a classic beer profile.

Bigger and Bigger

Our experimentation with big beers began with Samuel Adams® Double Bock back in 1988. Creating a beer with that much flavor intensity only piqued our interest to see what we could do with different styles of beer. Our latest creation, Samuel Adams® Imperial White, was an experiment in taking a classic wit beer and taking its flavor profile to new heights for a unique taste that's complex, malty, and spicy.
