Hello Fellow Brewers:
Thank you again for your interest in the Hops Sharing Program and for your many kind words over the past six weeks. As of the deadline on March 22nd, we had received close to 400 requests for the 20,000 pounds of hops we have available to share. We had suspected there would be a lot of interest in the program, but this response shows just how many craft brewers have been affected by the shortage.
The lottery took place the afternoon of Monday, March 24th. Two separate drawings were made, one for East Kent Goldings and the other for Tettnang Tettnanger hops. The drawings were done by Jason and Todd Alström of Beer Advocate. As a result of the random drawings, the list of breweries below will receive hops. Those brewers should expect an email tomorrow with more information to complete the order.
We wish the best of luck to everyone in 2008. Here’s to a great hops crop this year so that we can all go back to brewing great craft beer instead of scrambling for hops.
