Samuel Adams Boston Lager Caramel Sauce


Yield: Makes about 3 1/2 cups

  1. In a heavy pan, dissolve the sugar, corn syrup, butter, salt and Samuel Adams Boston Lager® over low heat, stirring constantly. When the sugar is dissolved, bring the mixture to a boil and cook (without stirring) until the mixture reaches 235 degrees on candy thermometer. Remove from the heat and gently stir in the vanilla. Allow to cool 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Slowly stir in the cream until smooth and glossy. Store in the refrigerator and warm gently before serving.


  • 2 ½ cups of firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups light corn syrup
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1/3 cup Samuel Adams Boston Lager®
  • 4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream
