The people of the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas have shown unbelievable strength throughout the unprecedented damage caused by recent hurricanes Harvey and Irma. While they assess how to rebuild, they need our help.

To help support those impacted, we are donating $1 for every minute a stein of OctoberFest is hoisted at one of our many Stein Hoisting events across the country to the American Red Cross, up to $25,000.

We will also be giving all donations at our Boston Brewery tour center throughout the month of September to support the Red Cross’ efforts (our tour is free, but we suggest a $2 donation to support a variety of local charities).

Can’t make it to a Stein Hoisting event or the Boston Brewery? Join us online…

We are asking drinkers across the country to challenge their friends to #HoistForHurricaneRelief and donate a dollar amount of their choice for every minute they can hoist a stein (or substitute something else that weighs around 5lb).

To participate:

Record and post your own hoist using your camera or Facebook Live.  Let people know you are “Hoisting for hurricane relief” and the amount you are donating per minute; and challenge at least two friends to take the challenge.

Hoist your stein (or whatever else weighs around 5lbs - could be your pet chihuahua, a full pot of coffee, a bag of rice, or even a six-pack of OctoberFest) – be sure to have a friend time you!

After you film your video, update your caption to read:

I challenged (tag friend’s names) to #HoistForHurricaneRelief! I was able to hoist for X minutes, and will be donating X dollars to the American Red Cross. Challenge yourself and your friends and donate here: www.redcross.org/samadams.
