Welcome Beer Lovers to our New Brewery Tap Room

Hi, I’m Jennifer Glanville, the Director of Brewery Experiences here at our Samuel Adams Boston Brewery. As a brewer and manager of our brewery for more than 16 years, it has been my dream to share with beer lovers what I get to do every day – enjoy pints of experimental brews like our New England IPA or a perfect pint of a fresh Boston Lager. And, finally that day has come where I officially can announce the opening of our Brewery Tap Room!

Bostonians and craft beer travelers can now visit the Brewery Tap Room to enjoy a pint or flight of innovative styles from taps which will pour rotating experimental beers from the nano-brewery as well as fan favorites such as Boston Lager and seasonal brews like Winter Lager. We’ll also be hosting weekly events like trivia and karaoke as well as food trucks and small food businesses from our Brewing the American Dream program. Drinkers are welcome to enjoy the Tap Room Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Welcome to the Taproom

And, as if opening our new Brewery Tap Room weren’t exciting enough, we’re also opening our new Bier Keller, the inner sanctum for aging our barrel-aged experimental beers. The space for the new Sam Adams Bier Keller was historically used to cellar beer for the Haffenreffer Brewery. Drinkers will be able to enjoy samples of beers available now where else like Triple Bock, Double Bock, and Cinder Bock in spent Utopias barrels, just to name a few, as well as artisanal cheese pairings when they take our Bier Keller: Barrel-Aged Experience tour. The Bier Keller is separate from the original Samuel Adams Barrel Room, which will continue to be home to the development of barrel-aged sour beers like Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru and will be open to the public for exclusive experiences like our Beyond the Brewhouse tour.

If you’ve visited our Boston Brewery, you might be wondering what existed in these spaces before? Well, the brewery’s new construction expands our footprint in the historic Haffenreffer Brewery, a pre-Prohibition brewery originally built in 1871. In 2016, changed the location of our tasting and training room and started construction on our Brewery Tap Room. Included in this new space was a large cellar, which is now our Bier Keller, and space to build a new tasting room above the Bier Keller called Pickwick, named in honor of an ale made by the historic Haffenreffer Brewery.

I hope to see you at our Boston Brewery for a pint and if you’re wondering what else is going on while you’re there, check out all of our brewery experiences, that will leave any thirsty drinker satisfied!
