Special Announcement
On December 6th, our last tour of the day will be at 4PM.
The Boston Brewery is where all our beers get their start, with the exception of Boston Lager, which was born in our founder Jim Koch's kitchen. It is the smallest of our three breweries, but it is the most important.
We opened our Boston Brewery in 1988, and ever since it has been our research and development hub. If you're in Boston, take a tour and sample some exclusive beers. Know More, Love More.®
Take a tourWe’re constantly experimenting with new and innovative beers styles, and now you can enjoy them in a pint or flight in our Tap Room.
Visit usWe're constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries of brewing to make sure that from the ingredients to the glass, every pint of Samuel Adams beer is as good (if not better) than the last.

Go back in history to discover how the beer we know and love came to be! While we’ve only been brewing here since 1987, this building has been used as a brewery for over 200 years and beer itself dates back thousands of years. Sample four beers and learn how each of the styles originated, as well as how they grew and changed over years. Join us as we go beyond our Classic Tour and learn about the history of brewing, beer styles, and the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery.
Join us as we bring together two age-old pleasures: beer and cheese. As you learn about our barrel aging history and process, you’ll enjoy three brewery-only, barrel-aged beers paired with two local cheeses. Don’t miss out on this exclusive brewery experience.
If the date you are looking for to take the Morning Mash-In, Beyond the Brewhouse, or Bierkeller tour is not listed, that means it is sold out. However, if you do arrive early, we may have cancellation tickets available for the tour. Walk in tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis.
We typically offer tickets two months in advance, so if you are looking for a later date, check back.
The Pickwick is an intimate private space that lives in a separate building adjacent to our historic Boston Brewery. With enough space for 60 people (seating for 45), the space includes a private bar with 10 draft beer selections, including our flagship Boston Lager, our current seasonal, and a lineup of exclusive experimental styles. If you’re interested, please fill out the form linked below and we’ll reach out with more information.
Private Tours: We offer private tours of our brewery Monday through Friday at 11:30AM, 2:30PM, and 5:15PM. One of our guides will teach your group about ingredients, show you our brewhouse, and sample four beers—including two experimental styles—with you. If you’d like to book a private tour, please fill out this form at least two weeks in advance.
