David Ortiz has had a big impact on Boston both on and off the field – which we think obviously calls for a bold, celebratory brew. For one day only, we’re releasing Big Hapi, a bold mango juice-infused double IPA, to pay tribute to one of the best athletes to ever play the game and thank him for all the incredible memories he’s given Red Sox fans. It’s also the perfect beer to enjoy during the most exciting week in baseball.

541 bottles of Big Hapi will be available exclusively at the Sam Adams Boston Brewery – one for each homerun Big Papi crushed out of the park throughout his impressive 19-year career (with bottle number 34 going to the man himself, of course).

More about the beer: Big Hapi is a double IPA made with more than 5 pounds of hops per barrel and dry-hopped with five American hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest.  Infused with mango juice, this brew boasts strong citrus and tropical notes, a piney backbone and resinous flavor.

Want to get your hands on some? We will be selling it for one-day-only at the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery this Friday, November 4^th. Fans can start lining up at 2:00 p.m., and the beer sales will begin at 4:00 p.m. We’ll also be sampling Big Hapi at the Boston Brewery at our KMF Grand Cru Party.
